Adopt-an-Elephant Program

George Small, the creator of the Mpala Wildlife Foundation and the Mpala Research Trust, focused his energies and resources on conserving the habitats and wildlife of Mpala. Elephants held a special place in George Small's protection plans due to the rampant poaching for their tusks. Today, over 7,000 elephants migrate annually through Laikipia district.

Right now, Mpala researchers are hard at work learning more about elephants' behavior, habitats, and interactions with humans. Unfortunately, poaching is also still a problem and the Mpala Research Centre and Conservancy works hard to protect the giant mammals. When you make a contribution, you are helping with Mpala's patrolling and monitoring of the large elephant populations, and you are strongly supporting student elephant projects being conducted at Mpala.
